Ever rolled your eyes at alternative medicine? Me too! But as a practicing physician, I quickly realized that our conventional treatments often fall short.

In this video, I share 3 patient cases that completely changed my perspective on healthcare. These experiences led me to pursue integrative medicine training at the AWCI Medical Institute.

Discover how I:
1) Safely used peripheral nerve block and guided imagery with elderly patients and children who couldn’t tolerate general anesthesia. This approach not only reduced the risks associated with traditional anesthesia but also provided a more comfortable and healing experience for patients.

2) Helped a PTSD patient avoid paradoxical reactions to SSRIs and benzodiazepines with a unique approach that combined targeted supplements, lifestyle modifications, and specific therapeutic techniques. This case highlighted the importance of personalized treatment plans that address the root causes of conditions rather than simply masking symptoms.

3) Treated severe GERD without relying on PPIs by using a holistic approach that included a carefully designed elimination diet, targeted supplements, and lifestyle modifications. This case demonstrated the effectiveness of integrative medicine in addressing chronic conditions and reducing reliance on medications with potentially harmful side effects.

Integrative medicine isn’t about replacing conventional treatments. It’s about combining the best of Western and Eastern medicine to provide patients with comprehensive, personalized care.

  1. So….that the guy with the acid reflux was never checked for dairy intolerance, is a crime. He should never have been medicated at high dosages with noooo look at the cause. It’s so incredably basic. I’m glad you helped him and I’m pretty pissed off that others harmed him. Folks must look into things themselves. Clearly, some doctors don’t look much farther than cut it or drug it.

  2. I’ve been taking prednisolone for a year now to treat symptoms of Polymyalgia rheumatica. I’d be interested in anything that might help me reduce my pred dose.

  3. Great free video. Thank you. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜„πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰πŸ˜„πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‰πŸ˜„πŸ˜‹πŸ˜™πŸ˜„πŸ˜‹πŸ˜™πŸ˜„πŸ˜™πŸ˜‹πŸ˜„πŸ˜‹πŸ˜™πŸ˜„πŸ˜‹πŸ˜™πŸ˜„πŸ˜™πŸ˜‹πŸ˜„πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜™πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜Ž YXUXUXYXHH H HH

  4. Since 2010 I have NEVER TAKEN ANY TOXIC PRESCRIPTIONS… mainstream drs (no offense to them) and I know there are some good ones out there
My choice my body…healthy 71 year old…all my siblings are on endless medication with no root causes from EXPERTS…no thank you!

  5. If I am being honest, I dont see how such treatments (if they are reproducable) should not be integratable into normal medicine. I mean things like Ketamin have already been researched for quite some years. If it can shown to be working Id just call it medicine.

  6. I watched a movie last night called "It ends with us". The neuro surgeon in the movie looked so much like Dr. K. I couldn’t help but see him throughout the movie. It was a good movie with Blake Lively.

I do wonder how much medications have played a part in my depression. There’s obvious circumstances that anyone would be depressed about, but I wonder how much was made worse by antibiotics and other drugs. I guess I’ll never know, but I don’t rush to take meds anymore.

  7. Hi Dr. Kaveh, concerning the use of ketamine for PTSD pts…please consider this, that some pts with PTSD also have complex PTSD with dissociative identity disorder (DID) and ketamine would not work well them. CPTSD/DID functions completely different than normal PTSD. I just thought I would add this for your consideration. If you research this, please find someone who is well versed with DID as not many therapists are.

  8. What about if you took Vioxx and after that experienced reflux for the rest of your life? Gastros constantly say it doesn’t have anything to do with Vioxx. Idk what else to do no one will listen 😞

  9. β€œRemember that you have more power over your health than you’ve probably been told. And you can advocate for yourself to find the right healer for you.” This statement alone says so much. πŸŽ‰
This was very inspiring. Thank you. πŸ™πŸΌ

  10. Maybe you need to find better terms for what you do in a world where homeopathic medicines are nothing but water with the memory of a healing molecule and accupuncturists cannot agree on where to insert their needles. So much of it is BS, verified by double blind studies that it is shocking that a man of science would use the same terms as charlatans for what he does.

  11. Add an earthing room ( connecting to the earth and absorbing negative electrons to eliminate inflammation by normalizing blood viscosity) and earthing patches, which healed my carpal tunnel, to your treatment.

  12. I was always interested in other healing methods. Before becoming chronically ill myself, I worked in healthcare too.
My faith in acupuncture was when my GP, put some needles in anxiety points, and I was talking a dime a dozen out of excitement and when that spot hit, I just took a deep breath and had a tiny power nap!
There was also a small town centre, with a GP, pharmacy, herbal doctor, palliative care centre, all on the same site. It has probably disappeared now, but I was so impressed. Which is when I started referring to COMPLEMENTARY, not alternative medicine. A lot of common drugs were extracted from plants in the first place. I am not saying I believe πŸ’― in either the Western or Eastern/more indigenous methods, but I definitely believe they can help each other.
It’s nice to see this video though.

  13. I mistakenly mentioned cleaning my ears with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to an MD checking my ears. He MD kungfu poked my ear with the cue tip. I ignored it. He wasn’t heavily sedated like the MD I saw in 2023.

  14. I had a procedure done and had chosen to not use any of their pain management options because I had been breastfeeding my newborn son at the time. After the procedure, I experienced shock and my blood pressure dropped to something like 46/29

  15. I didn’t have access to Western medicine for financial reasons until I was nearly 50. But being unable to afford treatment doesn’t mean you don’t need it.
I’m honestly thankful today because it ignited my passion for holistic medicine.
    Bottom line: it works.
Especially when there is an emotional component.
People are more than walking flesh bags. We are a union of body and spirit. The mind and emotions influence a lot.
I could have been that woman with CPTSD. I also had an undiagnosed food allergy to canola oil , which I figured out myself via elimination diets. I won’t make any journals because I treated myself (and, having experienced Western medicine now, yeahβ€”I’m sticking with holistic unless I break a bone). But I welcome anyone to witness the results and am happy to share my story.
    Holistic medicine works.

  16. I lived in Japan where my doctor was trained in Western and Asian medicine. He treated my headache with acupuncture. We also relieved psoriasis by simply boiling drinking water.

  17. One thing I see that med practitioners fail to include is the fact that we are all different there is no one med that suits all, also after 4 hours foot reconstruction surgery after an accident the whole of the staff went into a panic because they could not bring me around they said I frightened the hell out of them they thought they had lost me

  18. You cannot get the same medical grade of equipment
    I can get

I graduated in 2012 from Milwaukee Career College as a #Pharmacy_Technician

I just need a certification exam

  19. You’re such an empathetic person and Dr. and I find it very refreshing and relaxing. Thank you and please keep the videos coming.

  20. I’m indian so more receptive to alternative medicine when needed, living in Canada. But the young generation in the west is almost racist and pathetically ignorant in their greed thinking they know all and better than the others.

  21. I have had an appendix operation 6 days ago in which I was given anesthesia 20 minutes after the operation when I regained consciousness I was very nervous and my blood pressure was at 60/70 then the doctors took me to the open air which My blood pressure has normalized but every time I go to sleep I see the operation theater and the doctor and my blood pressure drops rapidly and my heart rate slows down and I can’t sleep and my mind is racing. Doctors and operation theater machinery are not out from my mind. Please tell me about my issue

  22. How nice to find a doctor who admits they don’t know everything and that Western medicine isn’t the be all to end all. Thank you.

  23. Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy and Encephalitis are the three autoimmue disease i have and doctors cant seem to figure out what might help stop my tonic-clonic seizures, other docs have also misdiagnosed me with lupus. I take Zonisamide but im borderline Status epilepticus and Cerebral hypoxia because i’m in seizures for longer than i should be and my body isnt receiving the air that it should be and it carries on for 2hrs. And I have them once a month. So maybe Holistic meds wont hurt trying at all as i’ve already done a Lumbar puncture, CT scan, MRIs, EEGs, EKG, CBC. Thank you for this video, glad i came across you.

  24. Hooray for you! I did not realize this about you. I have been an energy healer for many years. People would be amazed at what holistic health and and healing can do for folks. I agree whole heartedly, it does not replace allopathic medicine. I believe in the future the two ‘camps’ will work in unison, giving optimum results for patients/clients.

  25. PPIs are so hard on the body after awhile! I had such terrible GERD that I was on 80mg of Protonix for years a day and it still didn’t control it. I had many nutritional deficiencies that led to other issues.
I ended up needing a Nissen fundoplication, which was a literal lifesaver for me. But working with integrative specialists post surgery helped me resolve some of the issues caused by long-term PPI usage.

I really appreciate that you share your knowledge with us and hopefully it leads to people realizing that Western and holistic medicines can work great together!

    Thanks for the videos!

  26. Traditional medicine: _supportive_ of the natural body.
Modern medicine: overtakes control from the body. It’s distrustful.

The approaches are fundamentally opposed. The former is about trust and support, and the later is about distrust and control.

The nurturing approach is more feminine, and the control-based one is more patriarchy/colonizer.

  27. I ABSOLUTELY πŸ’― πŸ’― πŸ’― LOVE THIS!!! I felt like a slave to the "healthcare" (I call it the sick care industry) system for much of my 56 years of chronic health illnesses and diseases. Ketamine has been a game changer for me, along with some Ayurvedic and other holistic and tried and true medicine and supplements that have been safely used for millenia. Between 2014-2021, I was hospitalized 26 different times. In March of 2020 I started making changes in a LOT of areas, including starting a "mitochondrial cocktail" for my CVS (Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome), regular and abdominal migraines, and IBS. I was also able to wean off a LOT of insulin and that helped me lose almost 80lbs! I also believe that God had a huge part in my healing. I really do believe that He put everything we need to heal here on the earth.

  28. HALLEJULAH!!! Someone supporting what I have believed in for many years. I come from a family who have died early and were ill most of their lives. I vowed I wanted better for myself, my husband and our children. I have used holistic health practises majority of the my adult life. Acupuncture, biofeedback, chiropractic, naturopathy, we eat as ‘clean’ as we can source, as natural (no margarine in this household, butter all the way), no instant packaged foods, avoid high fruitose corn syrup and refined sugar, Bioflex laser treatment and the list goes on of alternative methods we have accessed. This is not to say that our diets are perfect ’cause there are times we go off the rails, but considering both my parents died at the age of 67 and I am past that it says something doesn’t it? I had to have heart surgery last year for a genetic mitral valve issue, and people are shocked when I tell them I am just fine thank you very much. I am asked constantly what medications am I on. When I tell them nothing other than 81 mg ASA, I have to repeat this statement several times. Good on you, doctor for being secure enough and caring enough for your patients to embrace what works and has been in practise for longer than we have been on this planet. I just pray that other physicians heed your words

  29. It’s too bad my insurance since retiring doesn’t cover continuing the acupuncture & massage therapy regimen I had. It was handling my physical & mental health way better than the surgery & drugs that replaced it.

  30. would Terahertz therapy really work to eliminate a Parotid salivary gland tumour? or could one try Magnesium alloy Hydrogen therapy ? these are claimed to be effective alternative medication (CAM) to deal with Parotid tumours instead of surgical procedure.

  31. I am sure you are aware that you can use acupuncture and still do an operation
    America practices Rockefeller medicine
it’s no fault of the doctors. It’s fault of the institution that are training the doctors. And pharmaceutical companies.
Some doctors do take the interest and learn other means that they can incorporate into their practice
And be quite successful without the cost and the side effects of the medication’s
Along with the astronomical cost to the American public
I can mention a number of things, but my worry is that they will be banned

  32. The problem is that there is no real regulation of that industry, and I’ve seen some pretty horrific stories there as well. No industry is free from charlatans.

  33. Doctor, I want to introduce you a spanish cirugian who for 40 years made operation without any anestesia, only using the parasimpathic state, that was amazing, I tested my self inducing that kind anestesia and puted niddles in my skin, and amazingly it worked! Peacee!! The Spanish doctor is called Angel Escudero Juan

  34. I am participating in 3 ayahuasca ceremonies on the 6th 7th and 8th. I have tendon repair bicep surgery on the 13th. Should i reschedule my ceremonies? Thanks, Mike
